P A U L Z ....... T R A I N Z

This is a basic tutorial on how to get a visible load to show on several GWR Scammell Trailers.

It is recommended that you make sure you have TRS2004 service pack 4 build 2365 before you start.

The wagons carrying the load have one or more load points defined in the model.

This tutorial will use the following products, but you may use similar products from the DLS:

GWR Scammell Front)
GWR Scammell Small Trailer
GWR Scammell Medium Trailer
GWR Scammell Large Trailer
and a product or load kuid all these products available here.

Also Wagon KUID2:243574:15008:1 and Product KUID2:132574:80004:1 will also work, available from the DLS.

You can use any others but the wagon must be enabled and contain a reference to the product for this to work.

First install your selected wagon(s) and product(s). You may wish to verify in TrainzObjectz that both are present and complete with bogies etc.

There are 2 basic ways to load up Containers (or any other Industry load), these will be dealt with in succession:

1. The first is to add them in Surveyor, then add the Containers by right clicking on the wagon.
2. The second way is to enable a Multi Industry New so that loads can be loaded and unloaded in Driver

To start, in TRAINZ, open up Surveyor and click CREATE NEW. Go to the Object tab

Select OBJECT pull out, and find MULTIPLE INDUSTRIES NEW, and select it

Select ADD button, move mouse over to layout and right click, a SPECIAL TRACK section will be displayed

Select TRACK pull out, and find TRACK INVISIBLE under SURVEYOR ONLY, click the + button

Move to the layout area, click on one end of the 'SPECIAL TRACK' and make a loop round to the other end. Stopping every so often to place and lock the track position (these can be moved later if required)

We are about to place Scammell vehicles, so zoom in to the far side of the loop, using the mouse wheel or arrow keys on keyboard.

Select TRAINS pull out, locate Scammell Small Front and click the + sign

Place 3 Scammell Small Front around the Invisible track loop, spacing them as you will be adding the trailers.

Now select GWR Scammell Small Trailer in the TRAINS pull out, click on the + sign

Place the trailer just behind the first Scammell Front, you may have to rotate the trailer by using the ROTATE tool (2 below the +)

Do the same for Scammell Medium and Large trailer, ading them to their respective fronts. You should now have 3 complete Scammells, each with different trailers.

Now zoom back to the Special Track (Multiple Industry New), click on the OBJECTS pull out and click the ? sign

Click on the Special Track (on it, not near !) of the Multiple Industries New, this will bring up a box

Click on the QUEUES tab, a new box will open, click on the + sign under Queue1, this will open another box showing all the available Containers (Industries) available for selection. Select Container LNER Blue

This will add the LNER container selection to Queue1

Click on the 0 tonnes alongside the icon for the container. This will bring up another box

Click on the Set Initial Product Amount box and change to 1, if you put in a higher amount, it will default to 1 as the trailer can only hold 1 item. Then click the green tick

This will confirm that 1 tonnes (or item) has been allocated to that Industry

Repeat for all the Containers required for that Industry (all of them for the GWR Loading)

Now click on the PRODUCTS tab and click on one of the Containers added previously (LNER Blue)

Click on the VEHICLE and this will open up a box, select the correct vehicle for this Container (GWR Scammell Large Trailer) and click the green tick

Work through all the containers assigning them to their trailers (small loads to small trailer, large to large trailer etc)

Then open the TRACKS tab, click on the + sign and add a container (LNER Blue), you may then decide if you wish to Load/Unload or both at this GWR Loading Bay, leave these as both

END OF BASIC SET UP

Adding loads through Surveyor:

Now (are you still with us ?) after a coffee or a pop, go back to the layout and zoom in to the first vehicle (GWR Scammell with Small Trailer) Open up the TRAINS pull out and click the ? icon

Right click on the Trailer, this will open another box enabling you to select a load to put on the Trailer, select Container Tiles

Click on the Units 0 and change the Initial Load to 1, and click the green tick

This will give you confirmation that this has been updated

Repeat this process for all the vehicles to be loaded.

You have now loaded all the wagons (Trailers) with acceptable loads, and may continue to the end. GO TO ** END ** BELOW

Adding loads through Driver:

This method will allow you to load and unload Containers through the Driver mode.

** END **

You may now exit Surveyor and drive your new Scammells

Press ESC to exit SURVEYOR (confirm that you want to SAVE)

Now you may go into DRIVER and drive the Scammells around, right click on them and instruct them to drive to the GWR Loading bay and unload/load containers .... have fun
