SOUTHERN RAILWAY Maunsell Ironside Coaches
From 1915 most Southern Region coaches were clad in sheets of galvanised steel instead of the usual wood panelling. These were nicknamed the 'Ironclads' and were introduced by Maunsell for the LSWR in 1920. Four trains, each with 5 coaches were run as the London/Bournemouth service. Each train comprised 2 3rds, a 1st, a brake 3rd and a 3rd pantry. Many were in service into the late 50's, and indeed some survived into the late 70's. So these were a regular sight around the area.
Ironside Pack comprises 8 different coaches, 3rd, 1st, 3rd Brake and 3rd Pantry, choice of SR Olive dark, SR Olive light, SR Malachite pre war and SR Malachite post war liveries, and are SP2 enabled for passengers and opening doors. Tested for TRS2004 and TRS2006. Shown in last pics are the 4 liveries(Malachite Dk, Lt, Olive Dk, Lt from top to bottom), and Pantry 3rd.
