North British Railway Carriages 3 (1840-1890)

These Carriages and Ancilliary coaching stock, built for the North British Railway, Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway and various other 1850's railway companies for use in the North of England and Scotland. To compliment the 1st, 2nd and composite coaches, these represent the other end of the spectrum, the 3rd and 4th class carriages, that vere VERY spartan to say the least. These were the days when equality was unheard of, these coaches were designed for the 'working class' who often paid just a 'few pence' for a railway jeorney. Some contained seats, others didnt, the 3rd class included some shelter from the elements and were for the 'better off' workers and their families. The 3rd and 4th class carriages are made from teak, weathered and sun bleached. Rusted wheels are included in the pack. Also included here are the set of Compo II coaches and the unique 1st class 'Coupe' coaches, that the passenger could view the scenery through end windows, both front and rear.

Coaches are $5 each or $7 for the 4 weathered varieties unless listed.
