Industrial Locos -Sentinel/Rolls-Royce Diesel

These were the 2nd entry by Rolls Royce into the diesel loco market, the first being a 34 ton 4 wheel version. The initial loco used a petrol auxilliary engine to start the 70 HP diesel engine. 300 of these were built, and could be seen in many guises/liveries up and down the UK. The rear section was the fuel tank. Several have been preserved, the East Somerset, West Somerset and Rutland Railway Museum. In 1964 Sentinel name was changed to Rolls Royce.

The Sentinel Pack comprises 4 diesellocos, drivers and 12 months warranty for $10 US. You may specify any livery (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow). Individual locos are available for $6 each, please add $1 each loco for full weathering. One of each colour will be supplied with the pack.

The Sentinel combined with Rolls Royce were commissioned to build a diesel loco for Industrial use in 1960. Having a 285 horse power diesel/hydraulic supercharged engine to power the 48 ton loco, these were in widespread used by many companies, including GWR and the Manchester Ship Canal.
