Please refer to GWR Broadgauge 1 for a brief history of 'Gods Wonderful Railway' and Broadgauge in particular. This second pack is an extension of the first pack, spanning another few years, the locos were beginning to add driver protection from the elements by adding a primative 'cab'. Power was increasing on the locos, which often reached high speeds of 70 mph, a speed that even modern rail transport finds difficult to achieve ! A speed trial was held in the 1880's and the fastest held the record for some 50 years! It was a Broadgauge loco.

The pack represents a small train, a loco (Bulkely) with tender, a celestory 1st coach, a 3rd, a 4 plank open wagon and a 5 plank open wagon (they are called 'planks' which is the English term for wooden boards. Note the slow conversion from the GWR Red rolling stock livery to the classic brown of the period. Later the stock was converted to GWR grey and then back to brown. Addition of rolled iron braces and corner posts were being added at this time. The 'Chocolate and Cream' Coach livery was in existence for the whole of the GWR period, with the exception of the World War (I & II) periods, when the livery was changes to a more austere drab. The coaches still retain the circular roof vents as smokeing was allowed, and the illumination was by means of candles and primative lamps.

All items, the loco and tender, driver and coalman, 1st and 3rd class Celestory coaches, 4 plank and 5 plank open wagon, all in authentic livery of the period, with 12 months warranty, including fixes, updates etc. is $10 for the loco & tender,$1 each for the driver and coalman, $3 each for the coaches, and $2 each for the wagons, or the set of 6 for $15 (a saving of $7) A FREE copy of the Broadgauge 7 foot (2.134m) track is included in the pack. All funds are quoted in US dollars. What an excellent way to celebrate the 200th aniversary (2005) of the coming of rail !!

Quality models for TRAINZ enthusiasts you can depend on !

I do have some pictures of the conversion, including moving track and the scrapping/conversion of rolling stock to standard gauge, Board of Directors minutes and letters to the GWR Employees. Anyone requiring such pictures should email me for the link. I have endeavoured to capture that moment in time for the true GWR TRAINZ enthusiast as there was a large gap in the TRAINZ assets available for Broadgauge. This pack, along with the next release, will address the matter, and will allow the user to enjoy another facet of this tremendous simulation.
