GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY 38xx 2-8-0 Loco

The pack contains 3 different numbered GWR 38xx locos, 6 tenders (GWR, Great Western, GWR Shirtbutton, GWR Pendant, BR early and BR late), animated driver and coalman figures, including 12 months warranty, all updates for $12 US. You may select 3 running numbers (total of 3 locos). Additionally the running lamps on the front, may be user selectable to denote use. Individual locos available for $6 each.

COMPATABLE WITH

GWR 38xx Engine, numbered from 3800 to 3883, introduced in the early 1900's as the 28xx loco, initially had a straight and tapered boiler. After extensive modifications and redesign, the boiler was replaced with a large conical design, the frames, footplate, cab and many other changes resulted in the 38xx class of loco. This is the loco depicted here. Some 184 locos were built, the first being the first 2-8-0 loco to run on British rails. Trials were held for load pulling, where the standard for 100 wagons was set. Withdrawals were begun in April 1958 after travelling 1,319,831 miles, the last withdrawn in November 1965. Many of the class have been preserved.
