N & W 2100 Class Y6B 2-8-8-2
This class of 50 2-8-8-2 locomotives were built by Norfolk and Western Roanoke shops, and #2200 was the last steam loco built in the USA. Of the 50, conversions were made to the Y3 class to give the Y6 class.
It was of the Mallet type, having fixed rear drivers, and sliding, rotating front drivers. The Rear was the high pressure end, the exhaust steam passing to the front larger cylinders as low pressure.
Railroads using the 2-8-8-2 locos were Norfolk & Western, Southern, Virginian, Clinchfield, Denver & Rio Grande, Reading, Western Maryland, Missouri Pacific, Frisco and the Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railroads.
There are 2 surviving 2-8-8-2 locomotives, both former Norfolk & Western. N&W 2050 is from the railroad's Y3A class, it resides at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois, USA. N&W 2156 is from the railroad's Y6A class, N&W's own Roanoke Shops built it in 1942, resides at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. More pics and history here and here
The model utilises 4 levels of detail (LOD), animated driver/engineer and coalman/fireman, Industry enabling for coal and water. Special texture mapping techniques are used with real rivet detail where applicable. Custom horn and bell sounds. Cab and tender lookout views are included. Tested and approved for TRS2004, TRS2006 and TS2009. The clean version is shown, with weathered version in last pics. Note this is a LONG loco/tender, and care should be taken to ensure no tight curves on layout, although the Mallet principle will allow reasonable curves.

The pack contains 3 different 2100 Y6B Class locos and matching tenders, any Railroad name, any number, animated cab crew, including 12 months warranty, all updates and fixes for $15 US. You may specify numbers (N&W 2100-2150) or they will be assigned. Full weathering add $1 per loco. Individual locos available for $8.
