Australia Melbourne Tait Car

The Tait trains referred to as the "Red Rattlers", were a wooden bodied Electric Multiple Unit train that operated on the suburban railway network of Melbourne Australia. They were introduced in 1910 by the Victorian Railways as steam locomotive hauled cars, and converted to electric traction in from 1919 for the Melbourne electrification project. The trains derived their name from Sir Thomas James Tait, the chairman of commissioners of the Victorian Railways from 1903 to 1910. The first cars were built during 1909 with the last entering service in 1951.

The trains were initially known as "Sliding Door" trains, as opposed to the Swing Door then in service. They were later known as "Red rattlers" or "Reds" from the 1950s when the blue painted Harris trains were introduced,

These models utilize spectral and normal mapping suitable for TS2009 and TS2010, but will run in earlier versions. Fully passenger enabled with opening doors, and utilizing Level of Detail to reduce load on computer. You may specify running numbers. 15 user selectable destinations are provided as well as user definable headcodes shown in last pics.

The Tait pack contains 4 different Tait Motor Cars in any livery/any running number, animated cab crew, animated doors, including 12 months warranty, all updates and fixes for $12 US. You may specify numbers/livery additionally 15 popular route names are provided and are user selectable in Surveyor. Livery option is plain, red, brown, green/yellow. Full weathering add $1 per car. Individual cars available for $6 each.
